Elena Ambrosiadou I have always been passionate about the sea and being a keen sailor have chartered various yachts over the years including the Maltese Falcon to cross the Atlantic before purchasing her in August 2009 ( Prior to buying the Maltese Falcon I had also chartered ‘Selene’, another Perini in June 2009 to sail along the coast in the South of France). I am an active member of the Monaco Yacht Club, the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Thessaloniki Nautical Club in Greece. Soon after buying the yacht I entered and won the Perini Navi Cup off Sardinia, competed in the 2010 Super Yacht Cup in Palma de Mallorca and the 2011 St Barth Bucket where we were also presented with the best seamanship award. My young teenage son Ioannis is also a keen sailor, he has been active doing all manner of water sports from a very young age. He has been a member of the very well regarded Thessaloniki Nautical Club for the past four years, and he is now also a member of the Monaco Yacht Club. My son started his training on Optimist boats and now owns his own 4.7 rigging laser boat which he trains on two or three times a week and at each opportunity every time we are on the Maltese Falcon . He has also competed in regional races with other yacht clubs in Greece. Both my son and I share a love for the sea and all types of sea sports including sailing, windsurfing, diving and swimming. We are a sailing family and have always been very active in sailing circles as we enjoy meeting like minded people and making friends; we are eager to develop our sailing skills by regularly following sailing and diving courses; this summer both myself and my son are doing a RYA Competent Crew sailing and navigation Practical Training Course together , at the RYA Cowes Sailing School on the Isle of Wight, sailing around the Solent and as far west as Weymouth and east to Chichester (weather dependent) . Notwithstanding my very hectic schedule I have succeeded in sailing, racing and cruising over 4,200 miles on board the Maltese Falcon to date:
